Carmel G. Napolitano, Managing Director and Principal

CGN was founded by Carmel Napolitano.  Carmel and her associates are available to speak to organizations in regards to not just their executive search needs, but also in the area of prospect research, donor relations and stewardship. Carmel specializes in recruiting for Executive Directors, Vice President, and Director level positions in administration, communications, evaluation, fundraising, and programming functions. Her reach is local and global with the capability to network with sources throughout the world with associates able to conduct business in French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Her executive search career began in 2003 when she joined Freeman Philanthropic Services. From 2003 until 2009 she participated in over 100 successful searches for the firm including the President, Palomar Pomerado Healthcare Foundation; Executive Director, Grace Outreach; Executive Director, Little Sisters of the Assumption Health Service; Executive Director, Baby Buggy;  Vice President for Institutional Advancement for the Community College of Baltimore County; President, Better Business Bureau of New York; the Executive Director for the Union Square Partnership; and the Executive Director of the American Hospital of Paris Foundation. Her wide reaching network of leading professionals extends beyond just the nonprofit sector.  She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and of Women in Development New York.

She began her career in the University of Pennsylvania’s Office of Development and University Relations and went on to serve as the Director of Prospect Information and Stewardship at Temple University in Philadelphia and was Director of Research Services and Special Projects for CCS, Inc. an international fund-raising consulting firm. At CCS she advised national and international clients on development research and prospect management and conducted development audits and feasibility studies.

From 2004 to 2006 Carmel served as lead instructor for the New York Junior League’s Nonprofit Board Clearinghouse course, a program training over 80 individuals to serve as effective and innovative board leaders for leading New York City non profits. A native of Haverford Township, PA, she received an undergraduate degree from Villanova University and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Center of Government.
